Words from a Chiropractic Patient

This week, I will step back from the writing desk to let you read a letter I received from a patient of mine. She has agreed to allow me to share it with you.

For years I have said that the reason the profession of chiropractic has survived for over a century, in spite of the medical animosity against the profession, is because it has been the profession of last resort that gets results with conditions that have not responded to standard medical care.

Amanda's story emphasizes that sentiment.

Spring 2021
Neighbors,
The truth of the matter is that chronic pain is life shattering. I have lived with chronic pain from herniated disks with sciatica for about 12 years. It progressed from uncomfortable/ annoying with occasional flare-ups that would put me on the side lines of my life with moderate limitations requiring adaptations to severe debilitating panic inducing pain daily. I was exhausted from the emotional, physical and mental drain that pain takes on the body and mind, especially of a mom. I was never educated on chiropractic care from my doctors. The only reason I sought it out was a desperate last ditch effort. I wanted to play with and care for my children without my family being on call. I wanted to commit to an event without the caveat of “depending on how the day goes.”

When I moved, I was referred to Dr. Pfeiffer by my previous chiropractor. Despite my previous doctor helping, I reached a stagnate stage. Dr. Pfeiffer has taught me that the secret to chiropractic care is not deep breaths and pushing through the pain, but rather appropriate complaining. The more I explained the pain the better I got! The pain was telling him what was wrong and how to fix it. He moved slow and steady with treatment which allowed my fragile body to heal and strengthen. I am now 9/10 days pain free. I will always have limitations but living wisely within them allows me to have wonderful days where pain isn't even in the back of my mind. I have my life back and it has quality too.

Dr. Pfeiffer has earned my trust, which I didn't think he would do. If you are a person who has been wronged by other chiropractors or don't believe chiropractic care is a legitimate medical practice please, take a minute and hear from one of your own. THIS doctor can help; this field of medicine is real and shockingly effective. Please, if you give any chiropractor a chance to help you get well...give Dr. Pfeiffer the privilege. I believe it will be worth it.
