CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS AFFECT BRAIN FUNCTION!

~~

We recently completed our first ever Brainspan Seminar in which I taught about 30 folks how they can test their potential to develop dementia, and Alzheimer's. Not only can we now gauge where they are on the spectrum of cognitive decline, but using the Brainspan results we can provide action steps to slow and actually reverse the process. We also had about 20 individuals change their lives forever by completing my 21-day Full System Detoxification Cleanse Program. To those of you who were not able to join us for either one of these programs hold on, our Fall Cleanse Event will be here before you know it. You can register now and save with our simple "3-Pay Plan". If you missed out on all of the cutting-edge information that I was able to bring to our class in my Brainspan Seminar hang in there, I will be having another one soon and you will be among the first to hear about it.

In both classes I mentioned the importance of Chiropractic Spinal Adjustments relative to cognitive function and stress reduction. Now a new research study completed at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic once again bears out the affect that spinal adjustments have on cognitive function.

Now please, let's not be remedial here today; we all know how GREAT the effects of chiropractic care are for low back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and disc problems. That has been proven over the ages, both clinically and through published research. That's right we do it faster, cheaper, and with greater patient satisfaction, according to multiple research studies and government publications. THAT'S AN IRREFUTABLE FACT! But, what I am talking about today goes way beyond that. Yes, what I am talking about is the way an adjustment affects the function of your brain through a process called "neuroplasticity". Let's first look at what this term means. According to www.MedicineNet.com the definition of Neuroplasticity is a process that "allows the neurons (nerve cells) in the brain to compensate for injury and disease and to adjust their activities in response to new situations or to changes in their environment".

So, what we are accomplishing with your chiropractic adjustments goes way beyond back pain or headaches. An adjustment according to this study, causes direct changes to brain function. In this study, which was a follow up study to a previous one demonstrating this, lead researcher Dr. Heidi Haavik found that cortical (brain) function changes/improvement occurred without any changes in spinal cord function. In other words, the changes occurred directly in the brain.

The research team was measuring something called "Movement Related Cortical Potential", or MRCP's. The ability of the brain to produce what are called "movement potential" in muscles in the body. In other words, spinal adjustments caused signals from the brain to the body to improve without causing any changes in the spinal cord. These changes were direct changes in the brain. My excitement about this is shared by Dr. Haavik in her statement regarding this study, which will be published in the well-respected journal "Brain Sciences"; "It is possible that patients who have lost muscle tonus and/or are recovering from muscle degrading dysfunctions such as stroke or orthopedic operations could also benefit from chiropractic care. These findings are also very relevant to sports performers (although this too must also be followed up with more research), because it indicates that chiropractic care may help their brains to more efficiently produce greater outputs. So, all in all a very exciting study!"

The last portion of the Dr. Haavik's quote is what applies to every patient that I treat, whether they currently have cognitive decline, brain trauma, or no observable changes in brain function. I think we agree that we can all benefit from having our brains "more efficiently produce greater outputs"!

This now irrefutable fact is why I tell my classes, whether they are part of my Cleanse Program, our Brainspan Seminar, or my Family Health and Wellness Program that Chiropractic Spinal Adjustments will improve brain function (neuroplasticity), reduce stress, and create overall better brain and body function.

If you are reading this and have either never had your spine examined for subluxations (misalignments of the vertebra causing altered nerve function), or have not been adjusted for "too long" then either give us a call or click here  and start the process up that can and will improve your brain function, and keep your cognition and brain health up for years to come.
