Is Your Cell Phone Causing Dementia or Other Health Problems?

For years many have wondered if electromagnetic fields (EMFs) could be causing health-related issues. I once saw a demonstration of their invisible impact. An individual held a florescent tube up towards high tension lines, and I watched it light up. Ever since, I certainly have wondered about the potential for these unseen impulses to affect our health in a variety of different ways.

Today, with the advent of 5G signals and blue tooth earpieces plugged into folks heads most of the day, these digital impulses are unavoidable. Just how might they be affecting our health, and what proof is there of this possible phenomenon?

These electromagnetic impulses have long been linked to some neurological impairments. However, recently, there have been revelations as to how these unavoidable, unseen potential health risks can cause Alzheimer’s.

EMF RESEARCH

A study performed at Washington State University by Professor Martin Pall used electronically generated electromagnetic fields (versus those that exist naturally around earth). These would be the same type as the EMFs generated by smartphones, mobile phone base stations, electric utility smart meters, digital power supplies and inverters, and radar. It also includes modulating pulsation from 2G,3G, 4G, and the new 5G, which with each incremental increase, the intensity of the EMFs becomes greater as well. One other source of exposure to EMFs that many of us are not aware of would be “small cell antennas.” These are devices that are placed on streetlights and poles as well as buildings to transmit data to and from wireless devices.

Professor Paul’s research study was published in the journal Current Alzheimer Research in March. It points to EMFs’ influence on one essential mineral in the body: calcium.

The professor came up with what is now called the calcium hypothesis. You see, a primary cause of Alzheimer’s is the increase in intracellular calcium in brain cells. This impedes the communication between nerve cells (neurons) in the brain. Subsequent to this, we see the formation of tau protein tangles and ultimately cellular death. This process of calcium accumulation causes continuous cell death.

The way this calcium begins to accumulate in the cells is due to the way the EMFs cause the unnatural activation of “voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCC’s).” This is the method that calcium uses to enter into the cells in the body. This process causes the increase in intracellular calcium.

One experiment exposed rats to very low intensity 3G cell tower radiation for just two hours a day for four weeks, which is a level considered safe for humans. Unfortunately, this level produced quick and widespread neurodegeneration, (a.k.a nerve breakdown). A massive one third of brain cells in the study rats died.

In a similar study, 2-year-old rats were exposed to a series of EMF pulses in a single day. Eighteen months later (the equivalent of humans aging 42 years) increases in amyloid precursor protein, amyloid beta, and oxidative stress in an area of the brain related to memory and learning were demonstrated.

Professor Pall notes that in his study “…We are getting universal very, very, very early onset Alzheimer’s in rats with no apparent genetic predisposition, simply from EMF exposure.”

Studies in humans have demonstrated that low intensity EMF exposure produces changes in the electrical activity of the brain, which is demonstrated on EEG. Eleven population studies demonstrate a higher incidence of Alzheimer’s with higher exposure to EMFs. Studies demonstrate more severe changes with increasing length of exposure to EMFs.

Generally, it takes 25 years of brain degeneration for symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s to develop. However, many studies note that EMF exposure may reduce the latency period significantly, suggesting that the latency period might reduce to just 5 years. Perhaps this could explain, at least in part, why Alzheimer’s is being diagnosed more frequently at younger ages.

Professor Pall notes that “it is possible that exposures we already have, 5G and possibly also 4G and smart meters, may have already caused the ultimate disaster…”

PROTECT YOURSELF

Perhaps we are seeing the advent of “digital dementia.” Professor Pall is calling for EMF exposure assessments on people diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. I would go beyond that by suggesting that perhaps we should consider EMF exposure ratings in certain occupations similar to dosimeter testing for Rad. Techs. in hospital settings. In this way we would have a dose rating for those who are exposed regularly to EMF’s. One step beyond that which is not out of the realm of reality would be for all of us to wear an EMF sensor to detect the level of EMF exposure we all experience.

Some thoughts to reduce your individual exposure to EMF’s would be to turn off your cell phone and Wi-Fi when they are not in use. Also, you can look into EMF protection devices. These include boxes and bags that can be used to store your cell phones and routers, and there are EMF-impenetrable fabrics that can be used to drape around areas where your digital devices are located.
